Excellent idea, I just submitted my picks. One quick question though, how will the tallying process work? Will the 'bigger' categories be worth more points?

Thanks. I do intend to get a points system in place and I will post it later. Bigger categories will have a higher worth. Categories like art direction and the short films will get the lowest points.

I think the smaller categories should be worth more. Anyone can pick Avatar or Hurt Locker to win both best pic and director.

I thought about that, but decided against it because if they are worth more it will eschew the scores towards luck. I make bigger categories worth more to even it out. By making the smaller categories less then they will in all likelihood decide the winner in the end anyway.

Last day to enter folks. Must get the entries in through the website by 11:59pm central time(us). After that I will not be able to accept anymore entries. Here in a bit I will post a list of all entries I have received through the website so far so please review the list and if you entry is not showing up let me know by PM and I will accept yOur entry by the PM, but only if you attempted through the website.

Less than 4 days left to get your picks in. I have about 30 people so I am happy about the participation, but more can never hurt.

My predictions... although the list of my Oscar hopefuls is a bit different. Mainly Colin Firth and Food Inc. for Best Actor and Best Documentary respectively.

Couldn't vote in time but thought I would say that I thought this was a great idea and love all the participation it received! Although I very much doubt it will win over the Avatar/Hurt Locker buzz, I want Inglourious Basterds to win Best Picture. In the end I think Hurt Lock will take it over Avatar

I SHALL WIN!

BTW: Matt Damon should win for best quote relating to the Oscars.

Quote:
The ‘Good Will Hunting’ actor knows that Christoph Waltz is the potential winner who has already grabbed the best supporting actor awards at the Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild Award and BAFTA for his outstanding performance in Tarantino’s ‘Inglorious Basterds’.

But Damon is not cool with an impending defeat, ‘I’m waiting for the losing actor to have the courage to just go ‘F**k! when the camera pans on him. If I have the balls you’ll see me do it on March 7″ he told WENN.
