Arrow Gilligan's Island The Movie?

Warner Brothers is planning a Gilligan's Island movie. Now grew up watching Gilligan and thought it was great. Of course I was under 10, so I doubt it would interest me in any way at this point.

Quote:
In late-2008, we told you that Sherwood Schwartz and his son Lloyd Schwartz had signed a deal to bring Gilligan’s Island to the big screen. But we haven’t really heard anything about the big screen adaptation for over a year, until now. Variety reports that Warner Bros is developing the feature film with Atlas Entertainment. Charles Roven and Richard Suckle are on board to produce, and screenwriter Brad Copeland has been hired to write the screenplay.

Copeland has a background in television, breaking in as a staff writer on News Radio, and moving on to Arrested Development, Grounded For Life and My Name is Earl. Not a bad resume, until you get to his lone film credit — Wild Hogs… ugh. He also wrote the upcoming Yogi Bear film, and is penning the Flight of the Navigator remake. Roven produced Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Get Smart, and The International.

Depends who they get to play Ginger and Mary Ann! Mary Ann was my favorite on the TV series.

What a bright future we have waiting for us. Can't wait till My Three Sons get the Hollywood treatment.

The thing that bothered me the most about this show, was that after a few weeks of Gilligan screwing up all of their escape plans, why didn't anybody beat him to death with a rock? Seriously if Gilligan was on Lost, Sawyer would have killed him after only a few days.

Didn't know who she was until I looked her up on Wiki. She would make a great Maryanne; didn't know she was Macauley Culkin's domestic partner!

Sometimes hot doesn't equal high self esteem.

One of my friends told me that Maryanne and The Professor live in the Seattle area. He said that The Professor (Russell Johnson) bought a pickup from his car dealership.

It sucks that the Professor and Maryanne weren't even mentioned in the original opening song for the series.

According to legend, it was Bob Denver who went to the producers personally and asked why Dawn Wells and Russell Johnson couldn't get a break in the lyrics.

The two best characters - shafted! No doubt under pressure they finally changed the song lyrics from "... and the rest" to " the Professor AND MaryANNE".

I love Gilligan's Island. It's one of my favorite TV shows along with I Love Lucy. I heard on the news this morning that Michael Cera would make a good candidate for the role of Gilligan. LoL! If they make a Gilligan's Island The Movie, I wouldn't watch it. I only like the original casts.
