Default I am proud to own ...

I am not even sure if this makes sense, but here it goes. Ok, it is obvious we all love our Blu-ray movies. I only buy movies that I would have no problem letting a friend pull a random movie off the shelf and I'd be happy watching that movie on any given day. However, some Blu-rays stand out above others. I'm not talking about your favorite movie. I guess I am talking about the opposite of "buyers remorse". After the purchase, even weeks after, I am super happy to own that Blu
My question is:
Which Blu-ray(s) do you own that you are just proud to be the owner of?

Mine, right now, would be "Where The Wild Things Are" and my "Watchmen: Ultimate Cut".

Yours would be ...

I don't see why pre-orders wouldn't count. It is more about how you feel about it than anything else.

Fair enough I am certainly proud to own the Complete Series release! I hope it features some really cool packaging and tons of juicy extras.

Star Trek, Terminator Salvation, Transformers 1 & 2 (HELL YES I'M PROUD!), Iron Man, and Incredible Hulk. I'm an action movie junkie, and I can watch any of these movies any time of the day, any day of the week. Love em

Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series. Already watched through the whole series twice in under 7 months. It's that darn good.

All of my movies.

Seriously. I am very picky now as I get older and I don't just buy any movie anymore like I did before just because I watched it once and liked it. So all the movies I own are worth watching again, to me, or anyone in my family.

I agree with you. I am getting pickier, too. Oddly enough, I am getting older, too.

Yeah my wife regularly reminds me that we don't need everything on Blu. And that's true. I've got lots of great movies and TV shows on DVD, and DVD is good enough for most of them.

For me the greatest thrill is seeing classic films restored and looking better than they ever did in theaters. We watched Gone With the Wind, and my mother-in-law remarked that in all her 70 years of seeing the film in theatrical rerun or on TV, she never could make out the pond behind Scarlett early in the film, as she walked with her dad. And it was so clear, detailed and lifelike. Same with Wizard of Oz, the Searchers, etc.

My older brother is a fan of Star Trek dating back to the early 70s. I showed him the Star Trek remastered discs, and he was floored by not just the new special effects, but how clear and bright everything was.

Blu-Ray is just a winning presentation of these great works of art.

This is exactly how I feel too. I am proud of my collection in general. At the moment I only have about 10 to 15 movies left to purchase in order to "complete" my cinema collection. All of them are worthy to be watched over and over.

With that said there are a few blu's that stand out to me and I say, "Man, I'm glad I own this." One stands above the rest. Most are digibooks and collections because they look awesome.

Generation Kill- I love this series and packaging. Plus I only paid $32 on Amazon for it. This is the one that stands out to me as distinguished, although it may be outdone by Band of Brothers when I get that.

The Matrix
Sin City
Rocky Collection
The Godfather Collection

+1

But the two that stick out the most our Ip Man & Let the Right One In. Mostly because of the poor quality I watched them in the first few times. Seriously though I could watch either of these movies back to back and still enjoy them.

"2001" - just pulling it off the shelf and holding the case improves my mood. I have thought, "after many years and many versions (and alot of money), I am finally holding the ultimate edition."

This. 2001 has always been, if not the first, then one of the first movies I've bought in every format, going back to VHS.

Also, Band of Brothers looks pretty good on my shelf. So does John Adams and Ken Burns' National Parks - America's Best Idea.

Untill UltraHD at least.

I guess mine would be:
Amelie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Firefly
Serenity
The New World

... actually, my entire collection more or less.
