Default Why is Monsters Inc. priced so high compared to other Pixar??

Anyone have any idea why Monsters Inc. is still so expensive. Compared to all the other Pixar releases, i.e Bugs Life, Up, Wall-e, Toy Story, Cars? Really want it but wont pull the trigger at close to $30 bucks.

Totally agree with you here...I try to pick Disney title the first week of release, thats when you get the best deals out there.

I definatly should have. Just seems like you can get all the other Pixar for under $20 including new releases.

It is weird. It has always been pricey. Even when it was bundled with UP it was more than UP.

Unless I'm mistaken, it's also the only Pixar film which standard release has been as a 4-disc set: feature BD, bonus materials BD, DVD, digital copy disc.

Monster cables are priced way too high...maybe they took a page from their marketing book?

Don't forget Up. Its initial release also has 4 discs.

Yeah, with the lower first week price and the Disney coupon, buying on release week is the best option.

To me it is the only option. Why pay more later?

+1. I'm sure many here remember the crazy awesome deals going on with combined coupons and Monsters Inc./UP on release week. Don't want to rub it in OP but I got Monsters Inc for $0.48 and UP for $0.48 on release day after all coupons. That will be a day long remembered.

The main Disney movie I want is Nightmare Before Christmas. The only places near me that have it are Target and Best Buy and they both want $34.99 for it. I regret not picking it up when I saw it at Wal-Mart for $15...

Same here............I payed $0.48 for Monsters Inc on release week. Hell I paid more in tax then I did for the actual film since they taxed me for ~$20 for whatever reason. Grand total for both films was $3.xx CRAZY deal!

Can you (or anyone able) elaborate in this area? What exactly did you have to do to snag em' both for $5? Much appreciated.

You did better than me, though I'm not complaining. My total for both came out to about $10.

Maybe because it is easily the best PIXAR film yet made?

It's worth every penny that they decide to put on the price tag.
