USA Unbreakable (Extended Edition) on Blu-ray?

Hey all,

Has anyone heard anything about an Unbreakable (Extended Edition) coming to Blu-Ray? I want to add Unbreakable to my collection, but I'd prefer to have the deleted scenes in the movie. IMO the scene where Bruce Willis is lifting weights in the gym with all of the football players is one that should never have been deleted, and whenever I watch the DVD I always end up stopping the movie to go play that deleted scene then I resume the movie. It is perhaps most favored scene in the movie.

Anyhow, I know there was an extended edition DVD released sometime after the theatrical version was released on DVD and I was just wondering if an extended edition BD was on the horizon. If so that's the one I'll want to buy, but I don't want to double-dip.

Thanks in advance!

I don't think there's an extended edition coming anytime soon...you might just want to add Unbreakable now...it's pretty cheap @ Best Buy right now.

Hmm bestbuy.com is showing $24.99 for Unbreakable on BD. That doesn't sound too cheap to me hehe but then again I am trying to buy all my BDs for under $10. :-)

The movies been out on dvd for nearly ten years without a single double dip, so I don't think you're in any danger of seeing one weeks after buying...

Just beware of the PCM pops throughout the movie.

No offense but that scene would have damaged the movie. If a whole football team were to witness such a thing don't you think it would be more difficult for Bruce Willis' character to keep his secret?

I hope for the movie's sake there is never an "extended" version. It's an amazing film as-is and should be left alone.

Interesting, as I never knew there was an extended edition, though I love the film. Would be interested to see how the addition of the deleted scenes changed the movie, as I think it's pretty great as is.

There isn't an extended edition. The op speculated out of his own wanderings. There is rarely ever an extended cut of a movie that is simply reintegrated deleted scenes, and even rarer on a movie where the same guy was writer-director-producer coming of another blockbuster with so much control of the final product.

Hmm. I have definitely seen people discussing an extended cut where the deleted scenes were added back in. Perhaps they were discussing versions created by fans. Regardless, the original question was not "speculated out of [my] own wanderings".
