I like every aspect of blu ray over hd dud, but however theres quite a few universal movies on hd dud, but not enough to dish out the money to buy a format thats losing horribly. God I want my children of men on blu......

I hope most people out there are by now, I dont see why anyone would be picking up hd dud players unless its done out of complete stupidity of not doing their research.

All you did was put the inmates in charge of the assylum.
I hate to think what happens in the showers with the HD-DUD guys.

Not sure why I love blu-ray aside that Sony helped to pioneer it, and the pic and sound is great.

I think I enjoy the elitest snobbery that comes from being better than everyone else. I am, as you know, a blu-blood now.

I think the number the true HD-DVD fanatics who would die for the cause is the same as that movie..... oh what was it called? I remember now, "300".

"You are not in HD-DVD anymore. This.... is.... blu-ray!" (Kicks HD-messenger into pit filled with old VHS, DVD, HD-DVD crap, and crocs.)

What I love about Blu-ray is close to everything. The only things that i dont love are fixable in the near future, 1.) lack of support from universal, 2.) lack of support from some of the blu-ray exclusive studios.

Why hate MPEG-2. It actually has some advantages!

* It seeks faster (during chapter skip and resume play).
* It is more resistant to scratches... the other codecs require much more data to be "pristine" to function. MPEG-2 can recover quicker because its blocks are smaller.
* At higher enough data rates it is extremely difficult to tell the difference. Just look at Paramount's most recent usage of MPEG-2.

Yeah, the anti-MPEG-2 koolaid was well dispensed and eager consumed.

Oddly, it's Microsoft propaganda that people accepted, yet incredibly ignored the rest and bought Blu-ray.

Why didn't people believe BD-J will steal your identity. And BD+ will lock your player?

What I hate about Blu-Ray is the incomplete specifications they rushed out the door. The studios are going to have to have a hard next year explaining to consumers why special features don't work on their expensive blu-ray player that's less than a year old. They seemed to know what the basic hardware specs were from the start so why didn't they require all players to have the necessary hardware for Profile 1.1 & 2.0 so they could be unlocked by a simple firmware update? Reminds me of the half-assed job Sony did with SACD pushing out stereo-only and then later 5.1 (and I remember reading they had started on SACD 2.0 which would have included video content to compete with DVD-Audio).

I can not say that I "hate" Blu...no, I just wish that Miramax, Paramount Classics, and Fox deliver more foreign productions.

That's all!!

What I hate:

Getting my hopes up for a title, only have them dashed a few hours, days, or weeks later.

Good point, but Sony had no choice really other than to do a rush job with Blu-ray. Otherwise HD DVD may have taken too much of the market by the time specs were finalized and they released product. I think what hurt Blu-ray the most initially were the awful early releases that were panned by reviewers and early buyers alike. Thank goodness Robocop was pulled off the shelves.
