Default What's the crack with Universal?

I don't suppose anyone has information about Universal Blu-ray releases? The bluray homepage shows the Universal logo as a backer but have yet to see any titles.

I don't own Troy on DVD so forgive me if i'm wrong but wasn't that Universal?

Does anyone know when we will begin to see titles like Apollo 13, Thunderbirds, Jaws and Back to the Future to name a very few?

Thanks.

So if you really are a "BlurayFanatic" boycott everything Universal.

BlurayFanatic... you may want to use the FORUM SEARCH option for most of your questions/comments. You will find that there have already been exhaustive conversations regarding most of the inquiries that you are making here. Many on this forum tend to get a bit emotional with such overly re-hashed topics.

The Universal logo is Universal Music, not Motion pictures. Troy was Warner. Apollo 13 is out on HD DVD so when Uni finally gets it together well see that one. BTTF, Jaws, JP all Spielberg, he doesn't like HD DVD, he likes Blu-ray so good chance we wont be seing those til HD DVD is dead, as universal will be the last company still putting movies on this joke of a format, in other words will have those by next xmas, as hd dvd is dead.

you want to know what's the crack with Universal. I will tell you and gladly of course explain why. you see Universal is on CRACK. If you can't make the right decision and stay exclusive to a dying format, obviously something is affecting the process of thinking. and in this case it would be CRACK.

and yeah Bluray fanatic, no offense buddy, but you should use the search engine. its nothing personal but it is frustrating when all you see is what happened to fox? and what is wrong with Universal?

and by the way welcome to the forum...

'nough said....

Universal has cut deals to be exclusive until certain conditions are met, whether that's time (rumored end of the year) or output (rumored 100 titles, which is satisfied) or both

Calling them crackheads won't change that

Suffice to say, they'll get plenty of punishment in the form of no special favors when they're finally on the Blu side. It'll probably cost them tens of millions

what id love to see is the BDA charge them an entrance fee that costs them everything they got in bribes form MS/Tosh. It would cost old Kenny G. his job too i hope.

While I would love for Universal to release a few titles that only HD DVD is getting (the Bourne trilogy, Battlestar Galactica S1, Heroes S1, Knocked Up) I don't think they're going to be supporting Blu-ray any time soon. Maybe not until the end of 2008 or some time in 2009. If HD DVD continues to sell as well as it has been and picks up this Christmas season then Universal MIGHT stick with HD DVD for the long haul. It's hard to say really, they seem to be very dedicated to HD DVD at this point.

What's the crack with Universal?

or

Is Universal on crack?

The latter would explain a lot.
