Had the pleasure of seeing this one on the big screen last week. Absolutely fantastic. Can't wait for this.

And, yes, the US and Europe editions will have the same transfer as the film is distributed by Universal in both countries.

Being a subcriber, I get Empire issues days before they're on the shelves. In this month's issue, they reviewed the Psycho bluray, stating the transfer is 'as sharp as Mother's blade'. I've scanned the page so you can have a read

My copy arrived this morning. Its beautiful. I'm not a fan of steelbooks usually (picked this over the regular case for the booklet actually), but it really has impressed me.

The packaging isn't scuffed by the way, its still sealed thats all!

According to the back of the case it has English, Italian, Spanish, French, German and Japanese.

More postage stamps than screengrabs! you cannot judge quality by them

Hi - Can anyone recommend the recently released 60th anniversary edition? Does it have any advantages over the previous release which would make it worth getting?

It has two versions of the film: the one we always see on TV, and that has been, up until now, released on home formats, and an uncut version that originally played in theaters back in the day. It's possibly also a new remaster, although I may be wrong there. Maybe someone else can clarify this.

all the new 60th Anniv editions have messed original mono audio up
it's downmix of DTS X track and lossy
so they are replacing discs but last I heard was replacements are same except for disc art so they need replaced too

the German Turbine releases have lossless 5.1 and original mono tracks but no DTS X
they include the uncut version like the 60th Anniv editions
and also have retro 4/3 version

It depends if you're interested in the original audio, there are obvious audio differences between the two. It's not just a bitrate/quality issue.
