Default Need help with Panasonic DMP-BD601K

I had purchased the panasonic DMP-BD601K Last year as my first blu-ray player It has been fine for the year I've had it. The one thing I'd like to find out if I can change though, is the types of media files It can play from disc or flash memory. Currently it doesn't seem to play MPeg 4 files or AAC files I do know it plays Mp3 and supposedly can play Mpeg2 files. Is there a way to get it to play mp4 or m4v files? these are more common for web content or movies/podcasts etc not distributed on physical media. Thanks

dont think its something that you can select to or switch. the player has to support it and currently it doesnt. the only chance for support is if a firmware update enables it.

Right, I was mainly asking if like many other things if blu-ray firmware is customizable or hackable like many other things such as smart phone or game hacks even certain computer hardware can be customized such ways, and being blu-ray players are so much like a mini computer these days I thought i'd ask if they were customizable in anyway at this point. Thanks
