Default Which Receiver given these speakers?

First buy for a home theater. I'm starting out with two floor speakers, sub, and front speaker first. Wanted to get a solid receiver, but I have a pretty tight budget.

Musts:

1. Be around 250-350 dollars.
2. Must be 7.1, but a very good 5.1 can be considered.
3. HD sound with my PS3 as its blu-Ray player.
4. Be able to use the speakers I mention below.

The speakers I have are.

(2) Jamo E 660 Floor Speakers
(1) Jamo E 7CEN Front Speaker
(1) PA-120 Sub

What receiver given the criterias above would fit well with the speakers that I have?

Thanks for any help!

I was going to suggest the Onkyo TX-SR607. It is a good solid receiver. Accessories4less has it for $299.

But I recently had an HT "epiphany." I am now a firm believer in using amplifiers especially if you have decent towers and fronts (and according to your jamo's specs, it can benefit from an amp). That said, I am not suggesting you get an amp now, but the 607 does not have preouts (why isnt this feature standard anyway). This prevents you from just adding an amp in the future w/ an avr upgrade.

So I would recommend the Onkyo TX-SR706 that can be found on the same site for $399. If $350 is a hard and fast price, the same site has a Marantz sr4003 for $329, though I have no experience with them. But many marantz owners are quite happy with their avrs. Note: the receivers on this site are factory reconditioned. But Accessories4less is an authorized reseller. I actually bought my onkyo 707 from them and the receiver came in great condition.

I just bought the same exact speakers and sub and it was suggested by a forum member to get the Denon AVR1910.

A little bit over your price range at $370 with shipping included but it looks to be a really good buy.

Id suggest the marantz 4003 listed above @ accessories4less.com and give that set of speakers some good clean power. it doesn't do HD decoding, but has LPCM processing and pre-outs.

The Denon would be the 2nd on my list and then the Onkyo.

Out of the suggested receivers I'd say go with the Onkyo 706. Its the most powerful, THX certified, and its 4ohm and 6ohm stable. It also decodes HD audio codecs and has an abundance of features. Your speakers are 6ohm and you definitely want the additional power.

The Marantz 4003 would be my second choice since it will also run 6ohm speakers well. It lacks some of the features of the Onkyo and its not quite as powerful but its a good unit and its a little cheaper. I personally wouldn't want the Denon since the reviews I've read on that model weren't very favorable in regards to sound quality.

Both reviews I've read stated that sound was average. There are a lot of user reviews that say the same thing. On the plus side video is fantastic, but its not a very big deal for most users. It does have suitable power output though.

I rank the Denon third since the Onkyo 607 is easily the weakest of the bunch and although its 6ohm capable according to specs I don't think its really suitable. You would need to step up to the more expensive 707 or 807, but in all honesty the 706 outputs better than both of those as well and it is a much better value. The whole *07 Onkyo line was a step backwards in the power department and the *06 line would definitely be preferred.

Lojack, there is a review of a pair of Dynaudio Excite speakers which are rated @ 4 ohms and the reviewer used his Marantz receiver to power them and said the receiver didn't struggle. Just so you know they can power 4 ohm speakers in the future.
