Here is another problem I'm having.
The alvin and the chipmunks blu-ray doesn't seem to play nice on sony players. I had issues with it loading reliably on the S270 and now it's not playing nice on the S570 i exchanged the S270 for. It will show the firmware warning, then sometimes the fox blu-ray screen then sometimes the adds or it won't load the adds and just sit at a blank screen if i can make it to load the menu it will just sit spinning the gear forever. I've gotten it to work a few times by taking the disc in and out and or deleting the BD data from the memory. so far on the S570 the menu hasn't loaded yet. On the panasonic bd 601 and the magnavox the movie seems to work normally. Any ideas? both sonys i tried it on had the latest firmware. |

The S570 has a GB of built in memory which the disc recognizes but the disc is very unstable to get to the menu, it was on both S70 models I tried it on. Avatar on the other hand as well as my other blu-rays work fine. |

For Anyone else having this issue. Here are instructions from SONY in fixing it. Unable to play the Blu-ray Disc™ (BD) title Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeakquel. Solution The screen may be blank or a poor image (block noise or picture flash) will appear when attempting to play the movie if the BD player is connected to a high-speed Internet connection and the BD Internet Connection setting is set to Allow . Follow the steps below to play the movie. Make sure that the Internal Memory or External USB memory device is empty. NOTES: Certain model BD players will require that an External USB device is connected to the EXT connection on the rear of the player. For model-specific information regarding how to delete files already stored in the memory of the unit or on a USB memory device, refer to the supplied operations manual. Manuals are available online through the Manuals/Specs/Warranty link on this page. Using the menu of the BD player, set the BD Internet Connection setting to Do not allow . Using the supplied remote, press the MENU or HOME button. Use the left arrow or right arrow to select Settings . Use the up arrow or down arrow to select BD/DVD Viewing Settings . Press ENTER . Select BD Internet Connection . Press ENTER . Select Do not allow . NOTE: The BD Intenet Connection setting should be set to Allow after watching Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeakquel to access the BD-Live feature on other movies. |

OK, This disc doesn't like the internal memory for some reason, I told it to use the rear usb jack with no memory in and the movie is playing without bd live loaded. The conflict here seems to be if the disc loads without BD live it's golden if it tries to load bd live stuff then i get random issues. both from a usb memory stick or the built in memory
