Default Resistance 3 or Killzone 3 - which one are you looking more forward to.

Title of the thread says all.

I am more looking forward to Resistance 3 since I am dying to know how they are going to resolve the cliffhanger ending from the second one and given the fact that when the first Resistance came out it was really truly the only great game on the console for about a year until Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank came out. I dont like everything they did in the 2nd one, but I really look forward to see what they do in the 3rd one and hope they bring back the weapon wheel. I always felt that the first Resistance provided a nice mix of Call of Duty WW2 era, Halo and Half Life 2 style gameplay, while the second one really removed much of the Call of Duty WW2 style stuff.

As for Killzone 3, sure Ill play it since I liked the second one, although I felt it was more or less the PS3 equivalent of Halo, which I would describe as fun and a helluva good time, but not really worth all the fanboy worship.

Im really hoping for Resistance 3 to come this year.

So which are you looking most forward to?

Feel free to mention any other games.

Killzone 3 by far, not even close.

Killzone 2 was my favorite FPS this generation, if Killzone 3 fixes stuff that was wrong from Killzone 2, as well as add new stuff to it, then it'll be my FPS of the Forever.

Killzone 2 was good. Played through it once, played MP for a couple weeks then moved on. Resistance 2 was great IMO big improvement over Resistance FOM. I didnt even know they were making Resistance 3 definitely, I would be looking forward to that way more.

Do you know a link that confirms or let me know where you heard that? Thanks!

Im a little torn over whether I liked Resistance 2 over FOM.

My main criticism of Resistance 2 is that they went a little too sci-fi in that one while taking out the WW2 element (not really WW2, but being in that era) and that kind of made me like it less. I felt they needlessly went all cinematic in the 2nd one presenting too many additional questions. I felt that same way about Halo 2 in that they tried to make it so much better than the first one that they lost some of the heart of the first game along the way. I kind of feel that way about Resistance 2.

Not to mention the weapon wheel!

I also felt that Resistance 2 was too short. It could have used an extra assignment or two.

Yes, Resistance 3 is coming. If you finished Resistance 2 there should be no doubt about it.

No, it hasnt officially been announced yet. E3 seems likely. I really hope it gets a holiday release date.

Yeah I agree w/ R2 being too short. I do rememebr the ending I just thought there would be a new game by now so I wasn't sure if they would actually make another one. I sure hope they do, the R2 ending was amazing, totally caught me off guard. I havent played the game in over 1yr and a half but I still remember that ending as if I just finished it. I do not remember the weapon wheel, what was it like agan?

Elaborate on what you found wrong with Killzone 2.

I didn't like the clunky controls, carrying only one gun at a time, and a short campaign.

I would like to be able to play the first Killzone, but I have a slim, but Sony should consider an HD remix.

- Lack of co op campaign and modes
- Lack of split screen for multiplayer
- Lack of dedicated servers, matchmaking and party system
- GG constantly changing the controls really broke the community
- 32 players on small maps such as Radec should never be allowed
- Some maps were very vulnerable to spawn camping
- Enemies putting up a spawn point at your base should never be allowed or it should be very very difficult
- Inability to get a secondary weapon
- Lots of dudebro dialog and Rico
- Inability to go to a prone position
- No toggle button for crouching (this was fixed eventually)
- No customizeable button mapping configuration like there was in Killzone 1

That's it off the top of my head

Killzone 3 by at least a lightyear. Don't get me wrong, I love the Resistance series, but Killzone just blows it away.

Really hard for me to choose, honestly. I loved both Killzone 2 and Resistance 2.

No question, Killzone 3. Resistance 2 was good, but multiplayer kinda stunk IMO. Killzone 2's multiplayer was awesome.

From a story standpoint, R2

From a gameplay standpoint, KZ2

Just started playing KZ2 again last night. It is a great game. It just does not stack up to RFOM 1 and 2 as far as weapons and variety of enemy. But it’s not supposed to. They are different games with different story lines.
Both are great games that push the PS3 and I will be buying both of them for what they are, day one.

I voted Killzone 3, but in reality KZ2 and R2 are my two favorite FPS's this gen and I'm equally excited for them both. KZ2 having Naughty Dog working on the engine is a major boost for me too.

Resistance. I loved the story. You'd think I'd like Fallout as well but no. Alternate realities set in the 50's are like my favs. Although, let's be honest, at least now, while Resistance is exclusive, we've got the best games coming.
