Woah, that's a full two months in advance of their own site's release date and we have no date at all reflected in this site's database.

Does it indicate that it is a BB exclusive?

I think it would have to be an exclusive to find it that early.

Wow! You got that early.

I thought this was for sale on Amazon a month ago but now checking the release date, I just may be crazy.

I believe it is a Best Buy execlusive that they are not promoting for some reason. There was a blurb on High-Def Digest about it as well.

Mpeg2?

Also, is that DTS-HD MA or DTS-HD HR?

If you get a chance, can you also post your impression on the PQ and AQ?

TIA

DTS-HD MA

Probably will not be able to view until the end of the weekend but once I do I would be happy to post about the PQ/AQ.

I really dislike this practice of having the special features on the DVD. I want to be able to access them on the Blu. I mean, come on, wasn't one of the features of Blu that they liked to tout was that you could access the extras while watching the movie?

A single layer disc with an MPEG-2 transfer? Does anyone get the impression this might turn out to be a dud? I hope not, but I'm not encouraged by the spec.

I went to two Best Buys today in the Seattle area and neither had this movie. Why would they have it on Tuesday?

The use of MPEG-2 means the BD was authored a very long time ago, possibly as early as 2007. MGM has serious financial difficulties, and has been cutting corners on their BDs. A shame the disc was not redone. My expectations will not be that high now.

I stumbled across this movie today at my local Best Buy and picked it up, couldn't believe it was there after checking online and seeing an august release date, i'll watch it tomorrow and post some comments.

You are right, very disappointed after viewing it. The PQ:Extremely high grain, poor contrast and a slight red tinge. Not much better than the upsampled DVD. The AQ: Not much better.

Well this sucks. One of my favorites. But I'm not going to buy it if it looks like crap. Disappointing.
