Quote:
Two pretty American girls are on a road trip through Europe. In Germany they end up alone at night with a broken car in the woods. They search for help and find an isolated villa. The next day they awake to find themselves trapped in his terrifying makeshift basement hospital along with a Japanese man. An older German man identifies himself as a retired surgeon specialized in separating Siamese twins. However his three "patients" are not about to be separated, but joined together in a horrific operation. He plans to be the first person to connect people via their gastric system, in doing so bringing to life his sick lifetime fantasy "the human centipede".
Looks pretty nasty if you ask me.

Heard about this when it was showing at Fantastic Feast, sounds horrible, and not in the way it's going to be bad, I mean it looks mind-scaring!

Am I the only one getting sick of the term torture porn?

Made in the 80s or earlier? "Oh man, the gore in that movie was awesome!"

Made in 2000's? "I'm so sick of this new torture porn trend!"

Movies like that have been around for decades. The whole "if it's not mainstream and I'm not exposed to it, it doesn't exist" attitude should go away. I suppose thanks to Twilight, people are sick of that crazy new vampire trend too.

There was a lot of gory movies in the 1970's and 1980's
Cannibal Holocaust, Cannibal Ferox, etc
Anything by Dario Argento
Salo; the 120 Days of Sodom
These movies all had their own genres, however
The Cannibal movies were part of the Cannibal/Mondo exploitation subgenre that found success in saying "Hey, what's with all the damn monsters and ghosts? People do scary s**t too". Although many still find these movies appalling, today. Really, these two movies are the only two I can think of from back then that border on torture porn.
Dario Argento made Slashers, Satanic Horror and Zombie movies
Salo was the only one I can think of (even of ones I've failed to list) where the sole point was torture. And even that was done as a metaphor for fascism (it wasn't a horror movie)

All the new revisitations to the Mondo style of exploitation films ARE torture movies. Torture porn might be strong, but they do tread lightly into the territory of snuff. Hostel, Saw, etc. Fortunately, the genre is being given some direction by movies like Frontier(s) and Borderland, but whether you like them or not (I like some of them) you have to admit that the point of these movies is to entertain morbid curiosity which basically makes them torture porn.

That having been said, don't think this doesn't mean I don't plan on seeing Human Centipede.

Looks like they did a Human Centipede in Silent Hill Homecoming. I haven't played this one since I don't have a PS3. Also, I found this...
