Is this ever going to be announced on DVD/Blu-ray? It was released in theatres in November and there is still no word. I thought it was one of last year's best films. Entertaining, nostalgic, and very well-directed by Richard Linklater (Before Sunrise, Dazed and Confused). Christian McKay's performance as Welles was spectacular. He was robbed of a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination. Zac Efron and Claire Danes were also solid.

Hope an announcement comes soon.

Still no announcement. It's so strange a movie by a notable director with a couple big stars (Zac Efron, Claire Danes) has almost vanished.

Amazon has a Video On Demand availability date of August 17, 2010. I hope this is also the DVD/Blu-ray release date.

The Digital Bits reports the DVD will be released as a Target exclusive on August 17th. No Blu-ray is mentioned.

I can't believe a Richard Linklater film with a huge star is being treated this way.

I've been wanting to see this - I missed it in the theater and since it's only coming out on DVD, I pre-ordered from Target's website - strange that it's an exclusive - and I'm disappointed that it won't be on Blu Ray. Hope it's a good blind buy!

According to this website it has been released to Blu-ray in Italy and Germany (region A playable too), but not in NA. You can rent it in 1080p and buy it in 720p off the itunes store, but still no NA Blu-ray release.
