I was looking at the Sony KDL32EX400. The only real difference besides the physical appearance seems to be that the dynamic contrast is 140,000:1 compared to the Samsung mentioned above, which has 70,000:1. Any thoughts on that?

I've not seen either, but $500 is a good price for both. From what I can tell, the Sony is a newer product, so advancement in backlight technology may represent the higher dynamic contrast number. Comparing the features may provide some insight as to which would be preferable.
