After nearly 3 years I finally turned my friend to the darkside. He bought a PS3. I'm trying to help him out with the best setup he can get given his equipment. He has an older Hitachi 55 inch 55HDT51 and a Bose 3 2 1. How many HDMI cables will he need to get the best sound? I think he might need an optical. Thanks

1. according to bose site, the hdmi is output only. so connect from ps3 to tv if its the same 3 2 1 system:

Trust me, he's been given ALOT of grief over the years for 1.) Bose 2.) No PS3/Blu-ray device. Another thing I wanted to add is that he has sort of an input hub that he hooks everything into. This might change his situation.
