Kids film? Are you sure? Sorry, I was always disturbed by it when I was a kid, and I'm still not keen on it today. But as for the Blu-ray release, that date listed is a Monday, so it is possible.

I've never seen this, is it one of those kids films that has a 'dark' meaning to it, or is it like 'where the wild things are' where people say its 'dark' but its just puppets playing with a kid..

No. I don't really know what to compare it to - Bambi maybe? I can barely remember both films though.

I just lost patience with WTWTA.

I'd love to have Watership Down on Blu-ray.

Only if you remember Thumper in Bambi as a huge bloodthirsty rabbit.....

Definitely not a film to just sit very young kids down in front of, I'm surprised its not a PG to be perfectly honest.

If 4:3 is the correct ratio, then that had better be what we get on Blu-ray.
EDIT: Apparently 1.66:1 was the original ratio.

[Show spoiler] there is a seagul that screams swearwords , rabbits with diseases , more blood than hostel and some very nasty buried alive moments (that dont end well) ,, thats just to begin with

I remember watching this film on HBO back when I was a teen.
It was the craziest, scariest cartoon I had ever seen.
would be awesome to have a blu-ray of this great film.

Try the Plague Dogs (by the same author) sometime. It is about as grim as it sounds.

Man, I think they are releasing everything that I bought in the last batch of dvds I ever plan on buying. Still, an upgrade seems likely...

Yeah - this movie was animated with rabbits in it but thats where the "kids" part of it ends! Solid flick - but hardly a real kids film.

Don't think we'll be seeing a UK release anytime soon (that unexplained cancellation was weird though), but we never know...

An email from Warner Bros. has stated Watership Down is now scheduled to be released some time in 2012.

Whenever a final date is known I shall post it here.

Kind of annoying that Germany has had a WB release for 11 months, but the UK gets a vague 2012 estimate :/

I seriously question the BBFC's U in this case. I too don't think it's really an appropriate film for young kids.

I seriously question why they keep on delaying this release....
And to tease us by putting it up for less than a week before taking it down again just makes it worse.
