Default Beavis and Butthead back on MTV (new episodes)

Huh Huh Huh...

http://www.hollywood.com/news/Beavis...To_MTV/7009504

The New York Post hung a big, fat, sirloin in front of our faces this morning when it reported MTV has confirmed 30 new episodes of the hit series, "Beavis and Butt-head," are underway. Best of all, they'll remain unchanged -- they'll still be in high school and participate in the same monotone banter, despite having aged seventeen years...just like Christy Turlington and Christie Brinkley!

The NY Post is a little late to this party, this was headlines like two weeks ago all over most trade sites. There was already an interview with Judge about it, lol.

I'll watch the first episode maybe, I hope it's better than it was the last time. South Park is the good version of Beavis and I don't even watch that, really.

Thumbs up This is excellent news!

I have always much preferred Beavis and Butt head to Family Guy, The Simpsons and South Park.

Hopefully, with this Beavis and Butt head reboot, there will be another cartoon wars with Beavis and Butt head joining the other three cartoons. Hopefully, the other characters on Beavis and Butt head will also be in the next cartoon wars.

By the way, when is the airdate for this reboot of Beavis and Butt head?

Naaa. They'll probably show them making fun of the cast than Jersey Shore rather than music videos, because...hey, its MTV. Still I want to see them make fun of Nickelback.

I'll be tuning in for a few episodes. Hopefully it's good. I'm still waiting for their original movie to hit Blu.

What I'm wondering is how they will watch the music videos. Sine mosteveryone watches music videos on the Internet nowadays, because no one plays videos on tv anymore, will they still be sitting on the couch watching tv or sitting in front of a computer monitor on You Tube?

Default Beavis and Butthead- 30 New Episodes?

Quote:
Back before Mike Judge filmed the cult classic workplace comedy 'Office Space' and hit it big with the beloved Fox animated staple 'King of the Hill,' the director rose to fame alongside two of the cultural icons of the 1990's, Beavis & Butt-Head. Well, don't look now, but it's time to break your flannel wardrobe out of storage, because it appears America's favorite idiots may be about to return.

Yes, you read that right: According to Examiner, Judge is currently hard at work fleshing out a whopping 30 new episodes of 'Beavis & Butt-Head' with the intent of bringing the MTV series back to prime time. The series, which features Judge as the voices of both title characters, would retain its "original ghetto-tech aesthetic," but feature modern music videos, which most would agree are more than ripe for some intense sardonic mockery.

Of course, there's one fairly large catch to the return of 'Beavis & Butt-Head,' which is the fact that MTV hasn't actually given the greenlight to the series. Still, while that would seem to be a major step in the process, the lack of a deal apparently isn't stopping Judge from proceeding with his reboot, meaning that should MTV pass, it's possible the series could end up on a different network or perhaps even online.

For those who may be too young or refined to remember, 'Beavis & Butt-Head' caused a national uproar during its brief but influential run from 1993-1997, with the show being accused of everything from coarsening national discourse to causing numerous copycat crimes up to and including murder. Despite -- or perhaps because of -- those controversies, the show became wildly popular, eventually spawning the big screen hit 'Beavis & Butt-Head Do America,' which raked in an impressive $63 million at the box office.

So can Judge recapture 'Beavis & Butt-Head's glory days? Or has the world passed The Great Cornholio by? Only time will tell.

When are they suppose to start airing new episodes? Has anyone heard anything?

I wonder how many of us here (and elsewhere in the TV-watching world) remember this show. It was airing when I was a teen, and was right around the time MTV just started ruining itself and setting up a huge shift in what was popular programming with shitfests like that show The Real World. Regardless of what MTV spawned from the era, Beavis and Butthead was a friggin' AWESOME show and nothing has ever quite reached that show since (the word "reached" being used loosely here). I loved how they would tear apart music videos, and of course the episodic shorts between videos were usually pretty good, too. I would go nuts to hear them lambaste from the sofa again, but with modern music as the target. Too bad their run ended in 1997, because the late-1990s produced some pretty terrible music (if you ask me).

Oh man...as I'm typing this, all kinds of memories are flowing back into my head about this show. Remember the gym teacher? "Kick me in the Jimmy!" ...and the note B&B wrote to get out of gym class that one time? Or "large fry, pie, large coffee." when Mr. Anderson was ordering from the drive-through...Hilarious stuff.

Interesting! I have the TV shows on DVD but they didn't include the videos, which is too bad. That was a huge part of the show. I guess they didn't want to pay the royalties on them all.
