I'll go for the Open Water movies. I have both on dvd and will welcome the upgrade for the right price. I thought they were both pretty good.

Yeah, that's the one based on a true story (I'm sure you know). I expected the second to be really bad but I like it. I guess if I go from memory I'd say I like them equally, maybe leaning to the second.

Has anyone heard anything about Open Water being delayed?

All the other Lionsgate titles being released on 10/5 have a preorder except Open Water. I sure hope its not delayed. Maybe they are deciding to release Open Water alone instead of w/ Open Water 2: Adrift (worst movie ever)

It's hard to believe that this film is only 12 years old, it looks much older with weird colors, it has an overprocessed, soft and fuzzy look, it's not really sharp like new films usually are, rough grain, whites are oversaturated.
The digital intermediate (is there even one?) or the HD transfer of this Blu-ray is based on a digital tape or something I guess or an old Telecine HD transfer.
A 4k scan of the original 35mm negative would make it look brand-new or much better (probably), but I am happy with the BD transfer, a very rough look - perfect for the film.

Finally got around to grabbing this one for $7 at Target. Super fun movie! It's weird, gory, and strangely homoerotic. I'm a huge fan of the original, even though I saw this one first as a kid when it played almost non-stop on Showtime one Summer (along with Cabin Fever, The Toolbox Murders remake, Saw, Dead End, Frailty and so many other amazing early 2000s classics). I think I was about 8 or 9 at the time. It definitely played a role in cementing my love for the genre, so I'm glad I quit prioritizing other titles and finally bit the bullet!

It's a blast. One of my favorite reboots (I use that term because it's definitely not a remake, but also not a sequel).
