It will be the same transfer as the UK/French/German/Australia versions which all look identical to the US version.

BTW, there's a new single disc JP BD with a slipcase & book that has fantastic package design not listed on this site yet. In person, it's the most aesthetically pleasing & detailed rendering of the skull image I've seen. I don't have the old JP blu, so I don't know if the disc is the same as the new one, but I just confirmed the new JP BD has a slightly different aspect ratio from the US BD, which the old JP BD is also listed as having.
Though from the same transfer (I think), the US, DE & JP discs do not look identical to me. Each have subtly different brightness/contrast balances which give them a slightly but noticeably different look from each-other. (My German disc of the standard cut is on the "expanded cut" set, on a separate disc, but seems to be a port of the regular German release, as it has the Canal logos & such.)
I watch the trilogy enough that I no longer stress about which version is the "best" and enjoy the differences. Still, the JP looks the best to me, though the US has a wee bit more image at the bottom.
