You will want to go HDMI from your blu ray player and direct tv box directly into your television as your receiver does not do HDMI. Then you will want to go digital audio out of your blu ray player and direct tv box into your receiver as it has 4 optical inputs.

So the receiver will switch the sound and the tv will switch the video.

The Samsung BD-P3600 has multichannel analog outputs and the JVC has analog inputs. So, instead of optical, you could use 6-8 analog cables and get lossless TrueHD and dts-MA that way.

I didn't even check to see if the BD-P3600 had analog outs on it, so few bd players have that, good catch.

Yes, any cables with RCA connectors will work. Analog is not simple plug and play like digital. There's an article at the BigPictureBigSound website describing the set-up:

While analog will give you lossless, it may not end up sounding better than optical. The lossy codecs on BD are less compressed than the versions on DVD and they sound great.
