Dead it may be, but everyone here knows that the real HD DVD fanatics use the AVSforum and not the one you mentioned.

Ah, I see. I wasn't sure, as I am quite new here. Sorry.

The same people that own this site, Iceman and Marwin, also own that site. It's obvious what format they prefer.

It would be funny if they redirected the domain HD-DVD.com to here. lollies.

The reason no one goes there is that www.AVSforum.com is already the Microsoft HD-DUD headquarters for the internet.

I posted the following on AV Science, a site with both blu-ray and hd-dvd forums it was removed by the admin and I was sent a personal message telling me that I was given an infarction and that I was being penalized 3 points (whatever the hell that means). It was also removed with the reason given that I was trying to invoke anger. Hd-dvd lovers can't handle the truth.

11 of the top15 movies of 2006 are from blu-ray exclusive studios

Box Office 2006 Source: Box Office Mojo

Position Title Studio Domestic Gross

1 Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest BV $423,315,812
2 Cars BV $244,082,982
3 X-Men III: The Last Stand Fox $234,362,462
4 The Da Vinci Code Sony $217,536,138
5 Superman Returns WB $200,081,192
6 Ice Age: The Meltdown Fox $195,330,621
7 Happy Feet WB $185,625,671
8 Night at the Museum Fox $165,150,384
9 Casino Royale Sony $160,047,891
10 Over the Hedge P/DW $155,019,34
11 Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby Sony $148,213,377
12 Click SonR $137,340,146
13 Mission: Impossible III Par. $133,501,348
14 Borat Fox $126,598,982
15 The Pursuit of Happyness Sony $124,834,524

Paramaount only holds the #10 + #13 spots, Universal didn't make the top 15.

And the HD-DUD folks on the AVS forums don't know squat. Hopefully the format will follow the HD-DVD forums...and die.

Same here. I rarely go to the HDM part anymore (the LCD/Plasma sections are still useful though).

enjoy

With the Paramount en Fox MGM thing, I googled for an hddvd forum and ended up to the forum mentioned above (forum.hddvd).

It certainly is dead, but there is one blu-ray supporter ?????? very active but I think this guy is hurting blu-ray more than he is helping.

He is in almost every thread and just gives his very biased opinion about blu-ray, also when it has nothing to do with the post.

When reading that crap I felt ashamed being blu.

I think if we want to spread the blu-word, we should do it the way it should be, with facts and no fud.

Don't forget High Def Forum, it has a large percentage of HD DVD enthusiasts. My understanding of the support for the format is that it is based on emotional reasons. A concern the sky will start falling if Blu-ray wins and this format war is great for consumers and Sony is evil and Sony will control everything if Blu-ray wins and blah, blah, blah. I can't make any sense of any of it. Past history with DVD, CD, SACD, DVD-A and the last 1.5 years with these two formats should tell every single person on this planet that this hobby thrives with a single format that everybody can understand and recognize that friends and family own it and have confidence in. Format wars are brutal for anybody that wants the best quality and best software selection. The argument isn't even close in my opinion.

Chris
