Good movie, but I will wait on reviews first before purchasing it. Lionsgate has released some poor-looking catalog titles in the past on less famous movies like this one. Given that a Region B version exists, I bet it is locked to Region A.

I love this movie! A very disturbing movie indeed, and I will pick it up for sure! A great story and some unforgettable scenes!

After "Back To The Future" this is probably my favorite 80's movie.
Very tense but great popcorn movie.

I bought this movie on dvd like 5 years ago and never watched it lol. A friend of mine suggested it to me and I just never got around to it, now I think i might have to pop it in and see if its worth upgrading.

The Blu-Ray is very nice, I still light a candle for the hope this gets Criterionized.

As a Silent Hill fan, I continually kept hearing about this movie but never saw it. Thought about buying it on dvd, but decided to hold. Looking forward to good things.

If you have seen Inception,you have seen parts of it

Seriously:It is a good and interesting movie.Makes one thin k after seen it.Few movies does that.

Yep, the original series (most notably Silent Hill 2 and Homecoming) were very influenced by this film. And so was Inception, as Mahatma pointed out. For me, it's a horror essential.

I just bought and watched Angel Heart last night - which is in many ways similar, and another Lionsgate catalogue horror Blu. The strength of the transfer surprised me (and the only other Lionsgate to do that was Cujo) ... I just really, really hope they keep that track record going with this one. Please.

Disappointing. I was hoping for a huge upgrade from the mediocre DVD. Looks like I'm just getting a minor upgrade to a mediocre blu. This great film deserves better.

Oh well... it's a Lionsgate catalog, which means it'll be $8-10 within days. I'll wait for it to hit that point and then scoop it up.

I am yet to see this U.S. release, but the UK release is most definitely not disappointing - it is a good upgrade:

If the U.S. release is identical, feel very comfortable picking up the U.S. release.
