Jane's Addiction Live at Voodoo Fest. in New Orleans.
Anyone else picking this up. I happen to have been there to see them and it was unreal. Its hard to put into words how hard these guys rock. Dave Navarro is an unbelievable guitar player. KISS played right after them and we were really let down by them thats how much of an impact Jane's had on us. So in short I'm picking this up. |

It's been a while since I've seen them (the last year that Lollapalooza was a tour), but mine's pre-ordered (from somewhere that isn't charging way too much for it like amazon is). Saw a good review of it, which convinced me now was the time.

Yeah, I saw that. That didn't last long.
![]() An interview I saw with Navarro said something about how Velvet Revolver was getting ready to ramp up again and that was why they were ditching Duff, but it sounds like there's more to the story than that. Ah well, at least they're continuing to write so hopefully they'll be a new album at some point next year. |

Perry's voice was much stronger than this when I last saw them in 2009 on the NIN/JA tour. It sounds like he's recovering from bronchitis or a cold or something during this show, not very strong at all.
Wish they would have filmed a couple and picked the best one. That said, the picture and audio are fantastic and I'm happy that we have JA on Blu-ray period. Saw JA in 2001, 2003 and 2009. 2001 was probably the best because they played such a nice long setlist, followed narrowly by 2009 because they just rocked Toronto so hard right after we had already been blown away by Trent Reznor and NIN. Can't give Live Voodoo highest marks because of Perry's voice, which is still awesome at times throughout the show, but still definitely worth owning just to have a 1920x1080 account of JA's original line-up with lossless audio. |
