[POLL 2] SHM-SACD Survey: Which post 2000 pop/rock album should they release (first)

Second batch of shm-sacd's contains survey cards, where you could suggest your favourite UMG albums, to be released on shm-sacd.

This is the second poll (of 4) to vote for your favourite post 2000 pop- or rockalbums released by UMG Japan.

Pick some of your favourites. At the end of the polls I'll make a "hitparade" of the most voted ones and will send them to UMG Japan together with my personal survey cards.

For the older US-forummembers, who have no clue who those artists are. I added a video with a popular song from the album (all live performances). If you want to hear more, there's youtube, internet, itunes to listen to snippets of the album Please discover the artists and cast your votes!

A somewhat diverse list, though good choices for the ones I have heard. Unfortunately, I think the chance that any of these see a SACD release is poor. The major labels simply do not care about SACD anymore, and the audiophile labels only cater to the Baby Boomers.

I recall there was a Japanese release of Guns N' Roses album Chinese Democracy (and others) in the SHM format. It was extremely expensive ($50 a pop) and as far as I know it's just a clear CD? The only difference I've found is that the SHM is made from a higher quality material and that essentially the source is the same? True or False?

If the same master is used, the SHM and non-SHM will be bitwise identical. It's "just" a different polycarbonate which is more transparent, supposedly resulting in fewer errors in reading discs.

I'm curious what the labels would say if asked whether their non-SHM discs can be accurately read by most players, let alone high-end players that most purchasers of SHM-based products may own.
