For those of you who have the Pioneer VSX-520 reciever model, I have a question. Does the HDMI supposed to flash on and off on the front? I hope I haven't confused anyone by the way I asked the question.

=> Check your HDMI cables' connections. <= ...And make sure they are secure by full insertion into their respective jacks. * Also to help, shut OFF the HDMI CEC feature. ...You know, that feature that turns automatically your TV and BD player (if they are compatible) On/Off. |

First, are you getting a good picture on your TV screen? 2. The Audio, is it fine? * To turn off the CEC feature in your receiver and in your TV, you'll have to check both manuals and find under which section of the menu setups they are. Most newer products made in the last three years or so have that feature. So you need the TV remote to disable it from the menu setup, and same for your reciver with its own remote, and also your BD player and its remote too. You did check your HDMI cables right? It could also be a simple setup somewhere that you miss. Very tough for me to pinpoint from here. ~~~ If I was you, I'll read both my manuals (TV, receiver, and BD player) by taking my time, then start all over again by disconnecting all and replugging them all again, and set everything right. Give me more to work with: you have your Samsung TV, your HD DVR+, your PS3 & your Pioneer VSX-520 (that's 4 components to verify). Which one gives you that HDMI flashing logo in your receiver's front display? Your PS3? Or your HD DVR+? There are zillion of settings just in your PS3 alone! HDMI Audio should be set to MultiPCM (Fat PS3), or Bitstream (Slim PS3). Walk half, and I'll walk the other half... ![]() By the way, do you have more than your two Polk tower speakers? Any center speaker? Surrounds? Sub? Your receiver is a 7.1-channel one, but are you using only two speakers? {I feel like I'm asking the questions here, so I should be the OP!} ![]() Last edited by LordoftheRings; 09-14-2010 at 11:45 AM. * HDMI => Blinks when an HDMI signal is selected and selected HDMI input is NOT provided.
-> Adjust accordingly by providing one. _________________________ READ YOUR MANUAL. |
