Default Two and a Half Men Discussion Thread

Wow. I loved tonight's episode. Taterhead had a threesome!

No site I go to discusses this show. There has never been a thread on here or any of the many forums I go to now or in the past. No website like IGN or AVClub review episodes of it. I just don't get it. It's extremely successful in ratings and I think the show itself is fantastic and is not embraced online. I don't get how people say this show sucks. Not one show is this consistent on making laughs in each episode. It has so many quotable lines throughout the years. This show has been great, season 1-today. It has never had a downfall in my books. It has great acting especially from Alan. It gets award nominations and wins.

Anyone else a fan of this extremely hilarious well written show show?

I watched it years ago, but that laugh track and the fact that Alan never developed as a character annoyed me. He just stayed the same cheap ******* through the whole series. He has plenty of money but was always asking for more and living for free. Nobody reviews it because not many sitcoms get reviews, the really great ones do, but not this. There isn't much to discuss with this show, a few funny lines every once in awhile but no real substance to it.

I wouldn't watch another Charlie Sheen show if my life depended on it.

I used to be a big fan of his movies when I was a kid, but this show? Nope. The only great thing Sheen has done in the last 20 years was utter the brilliant line after being questioned on his love of hookers......

"You don't pay a hooker to stay, you pay her to leave"

Charlie Sheen and Christian Slater both made lots of great movies a long time ago, but just make horrible tv now.

It's about time Warner Bros. fired him. The guy has lost his mind. It's time for him to really get his act together. If he doesn't, I expect we'll see him in the obituary section very soon....

Alan will have a dream, and in it Charlie will be played by Michael J Fox. He'll wake up and Charlie is Keith Richards.

Where is this idea about Michael J Fox coming from? I LOVE MJF, but he's to sick for a full time roll. It's sad, but true.

Some dumbass reporter mentioned last week "it would be beautiful for Michael to help out Charlie in his time of need, like Charlie did for Michael when he was to sick too continue on Spin City 15 years ago." Yeah except that Michael wasn't a drug addicted raving lunatic. Unlike Charlie, MJF has a real disease, and wasn't a ****ing nut job rambling to every warlock in this terrestrial dimension.

Better yet, he wakes up and Charlie is really his half brother played by Dave Chappelle

Plus a lot of TV actors are making bank that they would never have even sniffed with their movie careers -- Noah Wylie on ER, Mark Harmon on NCIS, David Caruso on CSI: Miami, Hugh Laurie on House, Christopher Meloni and Mariska Hargitay on Law & Order: SVU, etc.

So while Kiefer Sutherland never would've done 24 if he still had a movie career, at least he can appreciate the quality of work he got to do on it. And the paychecks weren't half bad either.

Although a better producer would've finished out the season with Charlie Sheen, given his character and/or storyline some closure and then dropped him on his ass without warning.

I bet next season begins with Alan walking into Charlie's room looking horrified, and than we see a body bag hauled off. He will have OD'd on hookers and cocaine....Oh wait that'll be how his real death plays out.

Maybe Charlie will have just fallen down the cliff, either way I don't expect Chuck to not enjoy writing the inevitable death scene.

Ashton Kutcher Confirms Via Twitter
Quote:
We've just received word that negotiations have concluded, marking That '70s Show co-star Ashton Kutcher's return to television after a brief movie career. He is replacing Charlie Sheen in Two And A Half Men. The deal made sense for series producer Warner Bros which already had an overall with Kutcher's Katalyst production banner. In fact, an hour later, Ashton announced he was joining the show by tweeting to his 6.7 million Twitter followers: "What's the square root of 625?"

I wonder if the new intro will just be a redo of the old intro.... or will it be something totally new?

I doubt they'll kill off Charlie's character. Even though I'm sure Lorre would love to kill Sheen's character the show is still a comedy and it would be weird to kill of the show's main character and then just replace him with someone knew like nothing happened. My guess is they'll explain it with Charlie and Rose moving overseas, as the final episode of the current season had them preparing to take a trip to Paris because Alan knew that Rose had faked her marriage and they could just say that Charlie and Rose had decided to stay in Paris. I'll be curious to see how they work Kutcher into the show.
