United Kingdom Stargate SE v Stargate Ultimate

I was thinking of picking the ultimate edition up but i thought the planet was meant to be sun drenched thats why they wear the shades and on the ultimate edition it looks like the sun has gone behind a cloud ive posted the links so you can compare the other photos aswell as the one ive posted.Colours do look more natural though on the Ultimate edition and detail is improved.Which one do you prefer?

ULTIMATE

SPECIAL EDITION

Special Edition for the colour, unless it was filmed on a cloudy day and the Ultimate Edition for detail. To me, everything looks a bit crisper in the Ultimate Edition.

But the Ultimate Edition looks a lot more natural, colour and saturation wise.

I have not seen the SE but have the UE and thought that it was one of the best BD transfers that I have seen so far for an older film. The audio is also excellent.

I would go for the Special Edition.. the colours look better considering its meant to be a stinking hot desert.

yep but would you ever know they were meant to be on a hot planet in a desert? ..nope.It does have the original version though which id like ,as the film dragged a little bit in places even before adding more to it.

I finally got around to watching the Ultimate Edition today, it is a little dark but I quickly fixed it by bumping up backlight on TV from 4-7. The hot desert scenes then looked perfect, and you have all the extra detail in the UE.

the SE has a few issues when theres a very dark scene, like inside the caves and inside the ship, lack of detail or lots of noise, it doesnt look nice to me either way, i dont have a copy of it anymore but i picked up the ultimate and its certainly different, but imo never worse than the SE

and yeah altering the settings on the tv slightly makes it look half as bright with the same detail, whereas reducing the brightness of the SE just makes it look sloppy.
