Default Rolled coins

Just spent 2+hrs rolling the coins in the coin bucket and came up with $287.50 Hope when I walk in with a huge heavy bag at the bank they don't shoot me on the spot lol.

I always bring my coins to Coinstar machines during the holidays. Every year they give you a $10 GC if you change in $40 in coins and choose to receive a GC over cash. Limit is one per household.

My bank just started having a coin machine and is waiving the service fee for account holders, otherwise it is a 5% fee. I just did around $50 last week.

My wife and I just counted our change jar this past weekend...seperated quarters/dimes/nickels/pennies and ended up with 450 in silver (with some extra coins left over) and probably $10 in pennies. Someday we'll go to the bank with it lol.

When do they normally start that promotion? I always go for the GC anyway and was about to take in this years coins. I'll wait if I can snag another $10.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who keeps a coin jug at home. I roll it ever few months and usually end up with somewhere between $50 and $100. Well worth the trouble.

I have a friend that saves quarters. Has been forever. Remember the old Sparkletts 5 gallon water bottles that were made from glass? He has 4 of them filled with ONLY quarters. Its thousands and thousands of dollars.

He leaves them out in plain view. I asked him why he doesnt keep them stashed away somewhere in case his home gets broken into. He laughed at me and said "If you can pick one up, you can have it".

Ohhhh

I have the plastic ones. Got one 3/4 filled with pennies, and one almost to the neck with nickels, dimes and quarters. I'm dreading the day I take them to the bank.

Maybe I'll just will them to someone.

I used to do it every few months myself. I started making all my deposits at the atm though and had been at least a year since I rolled em. It was getting to the point no more coins would fit in it lol so went to office depot and got a bunch of rolls and went to town. I was shocked when the finally tally was made.. been sitting on near $300 this whole time?
