Talking Big Love Discussion Thread & Casting News

Quote:
Big Love just got a little bigger: Onetime Terminator Robert Patrick has just signed on to appear in multiple episodes of the show’s upcoming fifth season.

The actor, probably second-best-known for his stint as David Duchovny’s X-Files replacement, will play Bud Mayberry, the leader of a polygamist fringe group. Which, to my thinking, means one thing: Bill (Bill Paxton) is gonna have his hands full, what with 24 baddie Gregory Itzin also on board as the Republican leader of the Utah State Senate.

What do you think? Good hire? Is this another sign that season 5 will probably be better than season 4?
Quote:
With casting coups like this, Big Love is well on its way to making up for a lackluster season 4: Legendary (and twice Emmy-nominated) 24 villain Gregory Itzin has signed up for a major recurring gig on season 5 of HBO’s Big Love, sources confirm to me exclusively.

Itzin will play Senator Richard Dwyer, the Republican Majority Leader of the Utah State Senate — of which Bill (Bill Paxton) is now a member.

Hopefully season five will have more than nine episodes. Season four felt way too rushed.

Oh yeah season 4 was complete shit. I believe season 5 is back to the 12 episode structure the show always had in the first 2 seasons, though season 3 only had 10, so I'm not sure. All I know is that season 5 should be a very different trip after being outed.

I'll merge this with the other big love thread when I feel like it.

I couldn't find the damn thing, and I knew you would find it for me, so it guarantees my laziness.

Here's a very vague promo that features the family playing in the snow to strange music and doesn't give you any idea what the hell the next season is about, even though it starts in a month. Kind of like how every promo for this show has ever been, lol.

I've only been watching the show a few weeks, but i was able to grab the first three seasons at Best Buy for half off. Anyways, with the Green's arriving in Season 2 and Albie being a real weirdo, this show is developing a funky kinda Twin Peaks vibe. Obviously, i'm not the only one picking up on that? Never, ever would've thought i'd be watching a show about polygamist Mormons starring, of all people, Bill Paxton. But, i love it.
