Default Interesting: Warner was not present at the HD DVD IFA conference

During the conference we saw Toshiba take the stage, next came Ken Graffeo(Universal), later VP of marketing for Paramount took the stage and lastly Microsoft had the last word. (Microsoft talks about the HD-DVD drive for XBOX after Ken Graffeo states that gamers are not their target audience.)

Where was Warner? As we all know Warner was present at the Blu-ray conference.

Warner and the same titles as BD was mentioned in the press con. And they are format natural, I have no doubts at the moment.

However, if it's true that there was no representative, it's interesting!

Oooooooo. Very interestink.

Blu-ray throws better parties, so I'm sure that had a lot to do with it.

Well WB is a BDA member so i guess that's one reason, and they support both HD formats. To be on their side Universal didn't show up either.

I doubt they'll go exclusive... but I'd like to see them lean towards BD instead of the other way. Release all films on both, but do separate full-quality BD50 encodes for us to enjoy.

I also doubt they will go Blu-ray exclusive yet.

Warner announced that the majority of HD media sales are for blu-ray at that European conferences so it only stands to reason that they would concentrate their efforts on Blu-ray titles in the future.

I noticed that Warner does not go out of it's way to promote HD DVD on their HD DVD titles like Universal does with their titles. The HD DVD logo is plastered everywhere on the Uni releases.

Perhaps there is a European (or world outside North America) way of looking at all this?

Would Warner decide to go Blu-ray exclusive outside North America?

They know know Blu is the way to go!!! When asked at the BDA PC, What format sells more.....WB answer was...Blu-Ray across he board.

They know its time to end the war and go Blu. Universal???? Why wait??? Pony up already!!!! Don't wait anymore.

Default Hopeful News!!

That's great news!! I've been worried my Blu-ray player, PC and movies MIGHT go obsolete (although I keep buying more Blu-rays, lol). I really hope WB goes BD exclusive.

Lets keep supporting Blu-ray all the way!!!!

I hope Warner chooses to go BD exclusive next year. It would mean so much positive gain for the market. It would help to accelerate adoption of Blu-ray as the choice for High-Definition media.
