Default new tv Panny TH-P58S20A and TH-P58VT20A

Chasing a new TV to upgrade from my pioneer 507pda.
I dont have full HD ATM, its 13??x760ish size and a few years old.

Pannys get a good rep and I see 2 of them. The top of the line TH-P58VT20A and a lower TH-P58S20A version. Im leaning towards the TH-P58S20A on cost.

The VT has alot of junk I dont care about like Viera online stuff, the biggest diff I can see that affects me is the contrast ratio.
Anything really off with the lower/old model?
rising blacks?

Rising blacks, and a possibility of floating blacks. I should know about floating blacks I had the 50V2OA bad floating blacks, I sold the TV. Which is a darn shame if it didn't have floating blacks I would have kept it.

Was told the s series is pretty ordiary, so thinking on going the 54v20 over the vt series. Seems better value as the 58vt20 is double the price.

Just make sure it don't have floating blacks, and Panasonic MLL levels will rise. And I doubt that next years models will fix the rising blacks problem.
