Default Audio question regarding the Last Samurai

I had posted this question in a thread discusing Tom Cruise and his movies but did not receive a response. So, I decided to start a thread hoping to get some opinions.

Has anyone compared the audio of the U.S. DD 5.1 vs the Korean TrueHD 5.1 of The Last Samurai??

If so, do you find the Korean version that much better to spend the extra $$$ to get it.

I purchased the Japanese version of The Phantom of the Opera: U.S. version DD 5.1, Japanese version PCM 5.1 and TrueHD 5.1. Well worth the $45.00 I spent.

Ordered The Last Samurai Nov. 5th from Korea. It was shipped from Hong Kong and I received the Blu on the 20th. 15 days, not bad.

To compare the differences in audio from the TrueHD 5.1 Korean version vs the DD 5.1 U.S. version all I had to play was about the first minute and a half of both movies.

The Korean version's opening narriatve was sharper and clearer, the birds chirping were much more distintive, pronounced and the sound was around me. But when the drums started to play and the lion roared, I did not need to compare any more. What a difference!!!

If you like The Last Samurai and audio is your thing, then the Korean TrueHD 5.1 version is WELL worth the $22.00 I spent to get it into my collection.

This is a short post because I now want to go back and watch the entire movie in TrueHD.

Where did you buy it? Amazon.com? I guess I just assumed the movie dialogue would be dubbed only in Korean...

I can't wait to order mine! Thanks!

Ordered from a Korean company. It was shipped from Hong Kong and produced in Austria.

The default is english with english subtitles when Japanese is spoken.

To me it was a VAST improvement in audio. If you do order, please let us know what you think.
