Lightbulb 1,000+ 1,500+ 2,000+ Blu-ray Disc Collection Club

I just reached 2,000 Blu-ray title with the arrival of Seven Samurai: The Criterion Collection. My total Blu-ray title count is now 2,019. Some stats of my collection:

Blu-ray Titles: 2,019
HD DVD Titles: 361
Total HD Titles: 2,380

SteelBooks: 286

Total Titles Watched: 1,140
Total Titles To Watch: 1,240 (includes titles that I have already seen in other formats or in theaters)
Total Titles Never Seen: 527

I generally keep my Blu-rays sealed until I watch them. I usually watch from my never seen pile before watching already seen (or seen in other format) pile. Lately I've been buying way faster than I can possibly watch.

Titles by Studio

Warner: 432
Sony: 281
Universal: 250
Fox: 186
Paramount: 148
Disney: 125
Lions Gate: 94

My New Year's resolution is going to be "To not buy any more Blu-rays until My Never Seen count is less than 100!"

Seriously.... 2,000 individual BD release? Jeez!

I just hit 200 this week and looked at hard numbers. If I average around $17 per BD (box sets, TV series, etc), I've spent approximately $3,400 on Blu-ray media alone!

You could have bought a small island!

congratulations man!

be forewarned though, someone tried to start a thread like this a few weeks ago and all the responses were people blabbering about how "dumb" it is to buy so many movies and nothing helpful or congratulatory

but that's not me
i know i'll never have over 1,000 blu-rays. probably not even close to 500. but for those who love to collect, 2,000 is super freaking impressive and all the power to ya! enjoy!

I keep my collection detailed on DVD profiler. It's too much work to enter all the Blu-rays here. My collection here just contains my SteelBooks. Unfortunately, not all SteelBooks that I have are in BD.com database.

I posted this in the other thread not too long ago (~1,900 titles in these pictures not counting duplicate SteelBooks), but I too am running out of space. Each of the large DVD racks in the picture holds ~ 800 Blu-rays. I then have Blu-rays stacked on top of desk and drawers that I haven't organized yet. It will all stop come New Year's Day.

This is one of my 2 main video rack containing mostly unseen titles. First column is titles that I have seen previously, but not on Blu-ray. Second column is titles that I have not seen in any format. Third column contain titles that I have seen in alphabetical order.

This second video rack contains titles that I have seen in alphabetical order.

I've piled on some of my collectible packaging on top of rack 1. Some notables include T2 Skull, Best Buy exclusive figurine collection, and Limited Seo Tae-ji Concert Blu-ray Set.

Notables on top of rack 2 include Wizard of Oz Ultimate and Gone With the Wind Ultimate Collections.

My SteelBooks.

My extra SteelBooks. These are the only shelves with duplicate SteelBooks (they don't count in my total tally.) I'm quickly running out of space.

He buys steelbooks or alternate editions, plus imports.

To be fair, it really wasn't about the size of the collections, it was the fact that whoever posted pics of his huge collection had around 1/3 of it still sealed in the plastic wrap, and people were questioning that. But indeed some of the posts got insulting.

But yeah, threadcrapping won't be tolerated. Nobody cares that you wouldn't buy that many movies, or that you're more picky about what you want to own because of your discriminating taste, or any other reasons we've read repeatedly. You've been warned.

Yeah, but some of them look identical. Hard to tell the details from the pictures I guess.

Doubles and multiples are only of SteelBooks. Because shipping is so expensive from overseas, I used to buy 2 or 3 copies of same SteelBooks thinking that I will use the extras to trade later. That's how that started. I have 628 total SteelBooks (286 unique SteelBooks).
