Default Leave APC S15 on all the time?

I just had the APC S15 shipped today. This thing is a beast it's about 78lbs. It weights just as heavy as the XPA-5. This is my first power conditioner purchase. So far so good. I have my router/modem hooked up to the UPS. Is it okay to keep the UPS on all the time so I can get constant internet access? Will this waste a lot of electricity or deplete the internal battery sooner?

not unless your running your whole house on the UPS!

as for the internal battery, its only on when the power goes out...its the backup. As long as you have power to your house, the UPS uses that. Battery is only for backup.

I leave both my Power Conditioner and UPS on 24/7.

Well, it's to protect all your equipment; so I'd say YES, leave it ON.

As for your power consumption, just check your bill from last year (for November/December), and compare it to your next month one (for the same time period).

oh i see. It has an on/off switch so I thought I'd have to turn it off like any other appliances. Thanks

From Page 7 of the MANUAL:

On/Off Switch
Controls power to all 12 outlets. APC recommends the unit be left ‘on’ at all times. Control power to your system and components using their own controls as you normally would.

Thanks Big Daddy. Your comments are always helpful. Like a true expert, you backed your comments with written documents. Thanks again!
