LG 47LE5400 47-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV with Internet Applications

Hey guys,

I'm looking to get the above TV for ~$1000 tomorrow. What are your opinions on this TV, based on the specifications? Good deal? Is a 240Hz refresh rate necessarily better? Is this the right time to buy it, $$ wise or should I wait?

I'd really appreciate your answers. I'm also considering getting a Vizio 47 with 240 Hz but the price for that is high for me right now.

I have no idea. I'm still waiting to buy it from a website that has it for a low price but it's out of stock at the moment.

I picked up the 55" last week of this model that I actually ended up returning. There was slight flashlighting in the lower left hand corner that was really only noticable during dark scenes. Also, when watching football, there was very noticable artifacting and pixel chunks. That could be due to the cable connection though. When I watched some movies, the fast scenese were very crisp. I ended up taking it back and exchanged if for a Vizio XVT553SV, which was cheaper then the LG.

With all that said, I paid well more then $1000 for the 55" LG last week and even looking at the 47", it was around $500 so that's a great deal if you can get it for around $1000.

I have read about some minor flashlighting issues with this model as well. Personally I don't think I'll be bothered too much by it, but only time will tell.

It was very slight, only noticeable on very dark scenes in a dark room. When I was watching regular TV on it during the day, I didn't notice it at all.
