I pre-ordered a copy from amazon.jp. Hopefully it will be released elsewhere ,if so, I'll cancel my amazon.jp order.

Terrible generic movie. Not even Tom could save this thing. Even if it were halfway decent, I'd splurge on it. Nice looking steel, though.

Are we sure this is a steelbook? The China version looks to be an Iron Pack.

Amazon's description and AV Watch both say SteelBook. Haven't seen an IronPack released in Japan yet.

This same situation happened with "The A-Team," IronPack in China, Steelbook in Japan.

So basically what your saying feilong is that only the amount pre ordered will be made? up to a maximum of 5000 so if they dont sell 5000 this could be very limited then because they may only have 2000-3000 pre orders could be interesting.

and also that would mean you will only get this steelbook of you have pre ordered it after that it wont be available

normally, japanese studios set a deadline for their limited edition, say, x weeks after the official release date. Or 2 weeks before the next lower-price edition come out. We don't know.

Just all in a sudden, they are no longer available from most vendors because many vendors avoid keeping too much stock. If the supply from a studio stop, then they are unable to get stock for the current customer orders. Regardless how many items are sold, the rest will be discarded after deadline.

I wish they would discard a couple copies in my mailbox each time this happens.

Seriously though, went ahead and preordered my copy from amazon.jp

Honestly, a pretty terrible movie like this, I don't think they can sell a Limited Edition for more than a thousand. Forget about 5000
