Allow me to introduce myself

Hello, my name is Blu. Not really, but I think you get the point.

I am a staunch Blu-Ray supporter, a huge Sony FanBoy and I'm not scared to admit it. I'm 25 years old and I live in a little town in South Jersey.

I stumbled on this site not too long after I got my PS3 (late December, couldn't find one untill then). I knew about the Blu-Ray capabilities but did not fully comprehend what was to be had untill I bought my first Blu-Ray title. Immediately, I was hooked. Since then I have tried to make it a duty to buy atleast 4 a month.

The PS3 is on almost all the time. If it's not being used as a Blu-Ray player or I'm not playng games then it is being used as a regular DVD player. With upscaling capibilities of course.

Primarily, the PS3 is my gaming conso.....nay, my gaming Fortress!!!! This is the first Playstation I did not purchase at launch, but I'll save this story for another time.

Currently I have a Mitsubishi 65" DLP which has given me nothing but problems. I own 11 PS3 games and 38 Blu-Ray movies.

I plan on upgrading everything in my home theature. The TV must go!!!! I want a Sony. I plan on getting a new reciever soon as I have a 10 year old Sony-ES reciever. Once the new reciever comes I plan on upgrading to 7 new speakers as the 5 I currently have are getting outdated.

Well, that about sums it up, I think thats a nice little intro. I love this site guys. I found it shortly after I was baptised Blu but decided to join now since I wanted to become part of the world class Blu-Ray discussion that goes on here.

Also a side question. Would I be correct in assuming that most of the users on here are not from America?

Welcome aboard.

There are a lot of non-US members on here. That is the charm of this place, it is definitely Planet Blu-ray. But, I would expect the majority of the members are in the USA.

I wonder, for those people disposing of a 65" television, or any other tv for that matter, how do you dispose of it?

Do you leave it in the front yard?
Take it to the dump?
Give it to a friend / relative?

Seems like a waste if the TV is still functional. It is preventing someone I know from upgrading a tv, so that is why I would like to know.

So do you live close to Artie from the Stern show? I am from CA and whenever I hear of Jersey or NY, I think of my favorite radio team (ok, satellite radio team). It's unfortunate that non of those people ever talk about Blu-ray.
