Default LOL AT&T rated as WORST US Carrier for cell phones.

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/tech...r-reports.html

Quote:
That brings AT&T, the exclusive service provider for the Apple iPhone, to dead last behind top-scorer U.S. Cellular as well as Verizon Wireless, Sprint and T-Mobile.

The company struggled in all 10 categories used to determine the rankings. Consumer Reports readers gave AT&T a score of 60, far behind the 69 they gave to second-to-last T-Mobile.
At least you guys have the iPhone I guess.

I've been an AT & T user for years..no major problems or setbacks..although I'd consider switching to Verizon once they get the iphone and my 2 years is up.

AT&T’s data and voice services and its customer service -- including staff knowledge and ability to resolve issues -- were all deemed lacking.
That I agree with. It's pretty bad..the majority of them that I've dealt with barely speak English.

Been with At&T for 5 years with not a single complaint, I dropped a call once though, when I was in the middle of the Cascade mountain range and no one else around me could even get service.

I don't really care about what others think, I like them and will stick with them. Crazy that their customer service is rated so low when they've always been extremely knowledgable and helpful. Just goes to show you that blanket statements and such don't really reflect the experiences of everyone.

Consumer Reports has an agenda anyway, they've hated on the iPhone because of "antenna-gate" and even after it was shown that many handsets have the same issue they still hate on it. C'est la vie, some people have nothing better to worry about.

I hate AT&T but love my iPhone.

Everyday consistently around the lunch hour I can get no data for my phone in downtown Cinci. Many dropped calls and failure to connect. The dropped call issue has even happened when I used to have a basic no frills phone with AT&T. Their network constantly gets oversaturated in my downtown. Now my work issued Verizon phone has never had an issue. There have been places I have been where there is no signal for AT&T here in Cinci, DC etc. etc. but my verizon work phone runs fine. I am waiting for my contract to run out and the Verizon iPhone to come out.

Why? The opinions of 58,000 Consumer Reports READERS doesn't mean all 93 million AT&T customers all have bad service. IMO, this "survey" is stupid.

No, but if the subcribers who were surveyed are truly representative of all carriers, then thier feedback is statistically significant. There is nothing "stupid" about the survey, as this is how ratings work.

That being said, I don't agree with the findings unless they completely left Sprint out of the ratings. Sprint is TERRIBLE! My company switched from AT&T to Sprint over a year ago, and my service has sucked ever since. In all honesty, I'd say 1/7 calls are either dropped or do not connect properly (one party cannot hear the other). My wife and three kids all have Verizon, and there have been zero problems with that service.

Many issues with most carriers is very regional.

It is widely known that AT&T has poor service in San Fran and NYC, but they have been working on that al through 2010 and into 2011. I did not read the article, but how many of the AT&T users were in those areas?

I'm just saying...

This. Where I live Sprint is king. It always works, everywhere I go I get mobile broadband speed faster than 3G.

AT&T and other carriers are worthless here. I tried AT&T for the 60 day thing a couple years back, couldn't even get picture messages. I would always be told to download them and it always failed. I call tech support and they'd say "restart your phone". Screw that, I'm not restarting my phone every time some one sends me a pic.

If I had been asked what operator I used in 2010, I would have said that I didn't have a phone yet.

I think that today, the best option would be to buy VoIP numbers. They are conveniently cheap, and they also have a lot of features, so conventional numbers are a thing of the past. For example, I am constantly on the road and want to keep constant contact with my relatives. Constantly buying new numbers in countries where I visit is not very convenient and expensive, so these VoIP numbers are the best option for me.

I hate the phone dudes who heckle you at Sam’s club trying to get you to switch to AT&T. Verizon is the only carrier that works in my house and I’ve been with them since 2008. A friend of mine would stop by often because it’s a dead zone for AT&T and his wife couldn’t get ahold of him lol.

Doesn’t Ryan Reynolds own Mint? I think Metro uses T Mobile towers.
