Roel Reine, who recently directed the “Death Race” direct-to-DVD sequel, is directing “The Scorpion King 3″. Look for the DVD sometime in early 2012.

Loved the first one but haven't seen the second but it's cool they are still making them. Really hope it get's a Blu release as all they keep saying is DVD and never even mention a Blu.
Ron Perlman? I thought he would be a bit pricey these days considering Hellboy and Sons of Anarchy being big hits... must have a reasonable budget then..?
Exactly. I mean, they kept Brendan Frasier for all three Mummy movies. Scorpion King was The Rock's first major role and look how they treated it. I looked up the budget for the first film and it cost $60 million to make and it made $90 mil alone in the US. Seriously, going the straight to video route is wrong for something like this. I mean, how does The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor go theatrical and yet they decide; "F**K THE SCORPION KING! STRAIGHT TO VIDEO HELL FOR YOU!"
