UK Pre-order figures...kinda

Just put this in another thread so i thought id post it for everyone to see,

this is one website (a big one) in the UK, though you guys might find it interesting.


Amount of people who have preordered these titles:

The only title share on HD-DVD, Blu-ray and DVD is 300:

300 HD-DVD - 123
300 Blu-ray - 399
300 DVD - 8239

That more than 3:1 for Blu-ray and HighDef market is about 6% of the total market.

This is only one title and one store but it's still interesting.

Interesting - thanks for this. Please can you add the figures for Pirates 3 and Fanatastic Four Silver Surfer if you have them?

The Spiderman titles have been available to pre-order for longer than 300, so that might be part of it, but if they outsell 300 by that ratio in the US (477+553 vs 399) = 2.58 times 300, then it will seriously move the Nielsen Since Inception figures.

Pirates 3 - 375 (doesn't really compare to 42k on DVD!)

Star trek box set HD-DVD (out on the same day) - 10

Haven't got Silver surfer yet, i'll get an updated list on monday.

Oh yeah and interesting point, HD-DVD is all about special features and Extras and thats what they think the consumers want?
