Yep. It's Australian and its bound to be recognized at the Oscars this year.

Yes. I actually went to see it at the theatre. It's a awesome film and one of the years best. Highly recommended.

Saw it theatrically and loved it. My favorite film of 2010. I was happy to see Jacki Weaver up for a Supporting Actress Golden Globe as a mother you won't forget.

I REALLY want to see this, so much that I am considering a blind buy. I've heard great things about it, and gritty urban crime dramas are a favorite of mine.

Same with me. I'm always a fan of the Sony Picture Classics releases, so I have no doubt that this is a pretty decent film.

Wanted to rent this from Netflix, but they decided to just not send it to me...and now it says "Very Long Wait". Sucks.

Looks like I'll be watching it on demand or seeing if any of my friends or family friends bought it and are willing to lend it to me. I really want to see this one.

Saw this in theaters. It's a decent movie. I thought it had potential to be so much more (action wise, there wasn't many murders). Maybe I was a little disappointed because I wanted to see it soooooooooo bad after seeing the trailer and early reviews. But I still plan on buying the BD when the price drops. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't seen it yet.

Just watched this tonight and thought it was excellent. If you're looking for only action you'll be disappointed, but if you like crime dramas with complex characters and very good acting, i highly recommend it.

It was a great movie, however, I don't see much potential for multiple viewings in the future so I'm glad I held off on the blind buy. Still a great movie and recommend checking it out

An incredible crime drama. It's hard to believe this is writer-director David Michod's first feature film. He's definitely one to watch. Jacki Weaver is great and very deserving of her Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination, and I thought James Frecheville was really good in the lead.

One of the year's best and highly recommended.

An "A" from me.

Finally bought this blind on BF with the price drop. Gotta say..wow. Nothing flashy, just great straight forward family crime drama. Dialogue could have been a bit louder, but maybe that was just me trying to keep up with the Aussie accents. Solid A/V quality otherwise. Rock solid performances top to bottom. I'll definitely revisit this one many times.

Cool. Never heard of it so thanx! I really liked animal kingdom a lot so it looks like I'll be looking forward to this. Gonna be a blind buy.

Animal Kingdom was my choice for best film of 2010. Very surprising this thread has been dead for almost a year. I highly recommend this film and I still believe that Ben Mendelsohn was robbed when he was not nominated for Best supporting actor last year. If you have any interest in Crime drama this is a must view for you.

I love Snowtown. One of the best crime dramas I've seen.

Does anyone know how the UK disc of Animal Kingdom compares to the US disc?

After seeing Jackie Weaver in Silver Lining Playbook, and her well-deserved Oscar nomination this morning, it made me want to revisit this film. It's only $7.99, so I've ordered it. I love the film when it was first released, but it's Weaver who left an indelible impression on me.

I watched this last night and I loved it beyond belief and couldn't stop thinking about it all day today. Just finished my second viewing and it definitely deserves a spot in my top 5 favorite films of all time. Everything about this movie is god-tier.
