I'm looking to get a 360 again and i've narrowed it down to 3.
1. Best Buy has a 360 250 gb holiday package which includes two games (Alan Wake and Forza? i believe) 1 controller and you get a $50 gift card. For $299 2. Best Buy also has a Final Fantasy 13 console which is listed as an Elite 250gb with FF13 game and 2 wireless controllers for $279. Someone said it had a Jasper chipset, not sure if that's better or worse than whats out now? 3. Just get a refurb with one controller from gamestop for $119. I don't do alot of online gaming but i do still do it sometimes. Any advice? |

Are there big differences between the 250gb elite and the newer 250gb systems? |

jasper chip was the last(?) chip on the phat models. it helped the console be cooler and rrod less. however, if i had a choice, i would skip all phat models and go with the slim. sell the games you dont like, use the gift card for another controller. the slim models have an even smaller chip and is more efficient. it uses less power than any phat models and prodeces less heat as well.

Get the 250GB Slim from BB with the $50 rebate. Peace of mind with the new Slim.
FF13 can be had for $20 and you can get a 2nd controller for $30 from Amazon. Never buy a refurb 360. |

I'll echo the 250gb sentiment. I have the old Resident Evil Elite and my wife just bought the new 250gb with the Kinect bundle. I love it and have moved the old one downstairs for the moment. Like most 360 owners, I had a few bad one's and wouldn't recommend a refurbished one. Knock on wood, my old Elite is still doing well. Still, I'm glad I have the new one. It runs so much quieter and doesn't take much room up.

Well a big difference is built-in wi-fi. If you want wi-fi with the older models you have to buy Microsoft's $100 add-on. Newer is also better, especially when you consider the past failure rate of the 360.

Get that holiday bundle. Alan Wake is a great game. I'm not a fan of Forza but it's gotten good reviews. Also, that $50 gc also sweetens the deal (which you can use to buy either games, marketplace points, a one year XBL subscription card or blu-ray movies).

get with the reliabilty of the New Xbox 360. You also get a 250gb hard drive that you can use to save purchased movies, tv show, and music. I've had 4 red rings with my old model elites. I would never get a refurbished for the reason that it will most likey like red ring (has happened to a lot of my friends)
