Quite surprising - could it just be a placeholder? I can't see them thinking that a sitcom would make a lot of money. But hey, biggest one in the world, I guess. HD versions would do well on TV as well. I'm guessing it must be worked on worldwide, as I doubt Warner Home Video would just release it in Europe.

There's been a new article, about two years or so back where Warner Bros talked about doing Blu-ray remasters of the show.

The placeholder is there sind 11/2009. Warner originally announced the show on BD but then pulled it from schedule.

Friends is actually airing in HD in Germany already on a channel called TNT Serie, including an English 5.1 track. So they've already done the hard part, at least for season 1.

Framing is very similar to what they did with Seinfeld.
