I have a Sony 3D-ready Bravia TV, with Sony 3D transmitter and glasses. I use a PS3 with the latest firmware as my 3D BD player. The Sony 3D demo disc works great, as do other 3D BD. With one exception: Avatar! A friend with Panasonic's 3D system let me borrow his Avatar 3D BD. I knew I was in trouble the moment my Sony system detected the 3D signal. All the windows in my condo started flickering and darkened. My Sony 3D BR setup showed Avatar in 3D BD just fine! But the key was getting close enough to the TV so that I could see ONLY its screen and no windows flickering. Interesting.
I pulled Avatar and replayed my Sony 3D BD demo disc. Worked just fine; no flickering windows. Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon with the Panasonic issued Avatar 3D BD? Thanks. |

I would like to have it. Some of my 3D blus came from starter packs like Shrek collection and my copy of Alice in Wonderland.
I very nearly bought a Panasonic 3D Blu Ray player so that I could get Avatar. (Repeated this experience maybe a thousand times.) Now,... I imagine the longer cut will come to 3D when the exclusive ends. I haven't seen the longer cut yet so I wouldn't even have to double dip. Wait for the longer cut in 3D is my new plan. (Till I get near a store with the Panasonic Deal.) -Brian |
