I got the set from DMR yesterday and while the Visions disc plays fine, the WOW calibration disc won't even load. Tried it on the Sony 440 and another Sony one that I just did an update on last week.
Anyone else having problems? |

I am going to have to call for a replacement. I wonder if I got some weird disc. Does your have two black marks about an inch apart on the edge of the disc (can be seen best from the underside)? Also, my disc case had a small rubber band in it. (The package was sealed and all but inside was a small rubber band.)

Just figured out what the problem was.
I had called Disney and got a return label from them, which I was about to send it off this morning. So I took the disc out of the set to get ready to mail, but I could tell there was just something wrong about this Blu disc for several reasons: 1. It's weight. Heavier than a Blu disc. 2. There were scratches when I gave it a quick rub with a soft cloth, something that would never happen with a Blu. 3. Thicker than a Blu disc, almost twice the thickness. Stiff. I checked the disc label to confirm it said Blu-ray not DVD, but the fact there was no protective coating made me even more suspicious. As my finger was running along the edge, it felt like there might be a tiny gap there. Looking very closely, I saw there was a split when I would flex the disc a tiny bit. Taking a chance, I worked on that split and pulled. After a few moments of pulling, a clear plastic disc separated from the Blu. This plastic disc was like you find at the bottom of a cone of blank discs. I figure mine was the last Blu disc in the cone and the pressure stuck the two discs (the Blu and the clear plastic one) together. I tried the Blu and it now works. LOL, I really got a bad package. First it had a little rubber band in it, and now two discs joined together. I guess WOW stands for "Whacked-Out Warehouse" ![]() |
