This is still an 18 Cetificate? Apart from machine gun fire I can't remember why now.

How do you make a cool helicopter? A stripe... Airwolf years ahead of it's time but I think I preferred Blue Thunder but Airwolf went upside down didn't it?

It was Blue Thunder that went upside down. Airwolf went past the speed of sound.

Yep upside down, and using that ridiculous jet booster thing it could compete in speed with jet fighters! I always thought Blue Thunder was a bit sucky in comparison. Loved this series as a kid in the 80s not sure I could watch it now tho. The theme music is class.

I knew I'd mix them up. Blue Thunder was good for looking into peoples windows though. I just read that the 360 loop was done by a radio controlled mode. BANG! Childhood ruined!

Update: 18 Cert for profanity.... PROFANITY!

Yeah cops using the latest tech copter to perve on women getting changed in high rises using "whisper mode" lol. "Blue Thunder vs Airwolf" that would be a movie.

It's a movie version of the pilot. It has some exclusive scenes and alternate dialogues

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086862/alternateversions

Quote:
Asides from adding much stronger language, the video release also for some reason also changes numerous lines of dialogue. For pure example, when Hawke tells Dominic that he's got a tough mission for the pair of them, Dominic quips "What're we gonna do, kidnap Kadaffi?"; the TV version's "Nothing that simple" becomes "No, a helicopter". There's numerous other instances of lines of dialogue being changed.

It was released in theaters in mexico, germany and Australia

Thanks for the pics of the posters, continuity wise this isn't the best introduction to the series I don't think. One of the strangest titles coming to blu but it may be a lovely addition. We'll have to wait and see.

Isn't it more or less the pilot episodes though, what better way to get into the series than the pilot?

Airwolf The Movie.

It will be interesting to find out what the audio will be on this release.
I truly hope for a surround sound on this one. But I very much doubt it.
I saw this pilot originally on TV, The best one can hope for is 2 channel.
Lets wait and see.

I'd expect some kind of surround mix at the very least.

I've been looking at this thread since day one. Some times I forget that Blu-rays are released as well.

I'm looking forward to a mini-review mate.

Disc arrived today. Looks like complete s***

A wobbly old broadcast tape, with DNR applied to it and awful black levels.

To add even more insult to injury, it's a 1080i/50hz job.

Avoid!

Audio is tinny PCM 2.0.
Encoded,(lol), in AVC, on a BD-25

Returning for refund.

Australia are putting out a double feature of the movie with White Line Fever. Pretty sure it ran theatrically there, maybe they sourced a print.
