Yea. I'm not surprised. They are gonna keep releasing a new COD every year until they kill the franchise..the way they did with guitar hero and tony hawk.

They killed Guitar Hero, but considering the $$$$$ they made off of Black Ops, it looks like CoD won't be dying anytime soon. It's become their "sports" franchise.

I guarantee there will not be a modern warfare 3 this november the title coming is a prequel too modern warfare 2 not yet titled.

Death Race 2 is a prequel. But it's the second film of the series. So Death Race .5 or Death Race 0 doesn't make as much sense.

Same with MW3. Doesn't matter where the plot is, it's the third Modern Warfare, and it shall be known by gamers, nerds, geeks, casual people, internet sites, forums, etc as MW3 unless it shows a substantial departure from the series (like black ops).

Until then, it's MW3.

My problem with Infinity Ward is their refusal to fix the problems with Modern Warfare 2. There are still people going inside that bloody rock in Fuel. And now they are trying to blame the hacking problem on Sony and are refusing to do anything about it. They've got their money and no longer care.
Apparently Black Ops is not affected by this hacking due to 'an extra layer of security', so why couldn't Infinity Ward do that?

I don't understand all the Treyarch hate. World at War was a great game, better than CoD4 (multiplayer anyway).
The PS3 version of Black Ops is poor compared to the excellent Xbox 360 version, but at least they care about the customers by fixing some of the problems that MW2 had. At least they are doing something to stop the cheating!

Infinity Ward don't give a shit about the customer! They don't care about cheating, hacking the leaderboards, 10th Prestige Lobbys, etc. Now MW2 PS3 multiplayer is broken beyond repair and they don't care. I was halfway through my 4th Prestige and cannot go any further. Luckily I've got it on the 360 as well and that is playable but always preferred the PS3 version.

Not sure ill buy another call of Duty game, black ops was my first and probably my last. I may stick to killzone 3 since that franchise does not look like its been beaten to death by massive releases with basic timing issues not working correctly.

They really are killing the franchise.. Why not just release an update like the Vietnam update for Battlefield? I couldn't tell a difference in gameplay really, and the multiplayer in Black Ops somewhat feels like a new map pack for MW2 imo

Maybe because all Treyarch ever did was ride the coattails of the old Infinity Ward devs when they simply put out another game using the IW engine. While the old IW brought something new to the table, all Treyarch did was rehash the same ol same ol with a new and glossy new cover. My $0.02 anyway.

On the whole cheating thing, if one where to completely ignore the idiocy behind the recent PS3 hack nonsense, the cheaters were already there to begin with. All Treyarch did was learn from the mistakes that MW2 had and ensured that it wouldn't happen again. ANY dev would be stupid to not learn from previous mistakes/exploits/hacks. Placing Treyarch on a higher pedestal just because they did what was natural doesn't further your argument. Given that what remains of IW at Activision is skeletal at best, why would they put their resources into fixing a game that has since seen its prime? I thought everyone was on Black Ops?
