I ve a question for all who own this BD that what do u think about the transfer to Blu-Ray? I just watched it and I am not impressed with the Picture quality

Yes there is detail but the colors look washed out and dosent have that warmth which I was expecting after reading the review here! Take "White Christmas" for instance, its older than "An Affair to Remember" but the picture quality is great so what u think what might be the reason here? What surprised me is that people actually liked the picture quality. I also want to say that I didnt watch it ever on DVD and watched it for the first time on BD but I feel picture quality could be more improved of this timeless classic! Is this the reason that I didnt watch DVD so I cant compare and notice the superior picture on BD? what u say?

I’ve been hoping Criterion will pick this up, if only so they can treat it like Magnificent Obsession and include the (far superior IMO) Irene Dunne original from 1939 as a bonus feature, which was nominated for Best Picture and Best Actress. That poor film doesn’t even have a solid DVD since it’s in the public domain. TCM sometimes shows a solid restoration of the film, but it’s not on home video.

Two Blu-ray releases of AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER were both released in 2011:

The first was a digibook released on February 1, 2011:

The second was a non-digibook version released on August 30, 2011:

I want to get this movie very much, but I want to know if the non-digibook release IS the same disc released in the original digibook release.

If anyone can answer me, I would gladly appreciate it. I just want to be sure before I actually buy it.

Exactly the same. Standard release was just a reissue of the disc in the digibook.
